Mental Health Nursing Services
Mental Health Nursing Services personnel are
available to consult with the patient and family,
Hospice team, and physician about mental health
needs should the patient exhibit signs of depression,
anxiety, or other mental health issues resulting
from the patient’s diagnosis, and requiring
specialized attention.
Our mental health nursing staff can assist the
patient and family with:
- coping with emotional aspects of a medical
illness
- assessing patient and family issues related
to the patient’s condition
- learning about mental illness and medication
as they relate to Hospice care and end-of-life
- assessing medication side-effects and complications
- stress management, relaxation, coping skills
and communication
