Therapy Services
To increase the safety and comfort of the patient
and family, physical therapists, occupational
therapists, and speech and language pathologists
are provided, when needed, to consult with Hospice
staff, family and support workers to address changes
in mobility or function of the patient.
- home safety evaluation and fall prevention
- use of wheelchair, walker, and/or cane
- pain management techniques
- lymphedema management and treatment
- low vision teaching and home adaptation
- patient transfer safety (moving from one
place to another)
- bathing and dressing
- splinting to relieve cramped/spastic muscles
in hands and feet
- home adaptations
- family teaching
- tongue and facial exercises
- use of communication boards
- feeding instructions
- strategies to promote safe swallowing
