neck muscles for better speech and swallowing. |
Speech-Language Therapy Services
Speech-language pathologists evaluate communication
and/or swallowing problems for patients following
a stroke, traumatic brain injury, head and neck
cancer, and/or neurological disease, such as Alzheimer’s
disease, Parkinson’s disease, or ALS (Lou
Gehrig’s Disease).
Our speech-language pathologists can assist
the patient with:
- strategies to improve speech and/or swallowing
- Vital-Stim
swallowing therapy
- tongue and facial exercises
- use of communication boards
- feeding strategies and instructions
