Wound Care
Although all CHANS Home Health Care nurses are
skilled in administering wound care orders and
monitoring the progress of wound healing, CHANS
Home Health Care is pleased to have a specialist
in wound care.
- make weekly home visits that supplement the
work of the patient’s primary nurse
- offer consultation in support of current
wound care plans
- facilitate communication about wound care
needs with the Wound Care Clinic and/or patient’s
physician.
Wound care encompasses a variety of care methods
and medical procedures designed to prevent infection
and increase healing of acute or chronic wounds.
- diabetic ulcer
- amputation
- surgical incision
- ostomy and continence care
- administer wound care orders
- monitor progress of wound healing
- collaborate closely with Mid Coast Medical
Center’s Wound Care Clinic, other local
wound care clinics, and physicians
- use the latest wound care technologies to
achieve optimal results
